Vogue 1250: Little Black Dress (LBD)

Have you ever had a sewing project that was just flat out relaxing?  I mean it just made you mellow?  Well that’s what it was like for me making Vogue V1250.  This was an easy and quick sew.

For this summer, I wanted a little black dress that would be cool, sophisticated and elegant.  This pattern definitely fits the bill and I must say I’m very please with the end results.

Project Stats:

1. Fabric : Black Rayon Jersey – Fashion Fabric Club
2. Pattern Sizing:  I made a a size 20
3. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Full Bust Adjustment, Sway Back Adjustment  and added 1 inch to the hip area.
4. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope
once you were done sewing with it?   Yes
5. Were the instructions easy to follow?  Yes,pattern instruction were very easy to follow.
6. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?   I love this pattern
7. Would you sew it again? Definitely will be making it again.  I’m thinking about it in a red silk jersey or a black stretch velvet for the hoilidays.

Also, I received the first fall catalog from Talbot’s the other day. Does this dress look familiar?  The difference an elastic waist and $129.
