Wow, I didn’t realize it’s been March since my last post. Well, life has been a little exciting for me these five months. I celebrated 50 and a wonderful man entered my life. Needless to say very very little sewing and knitting has happened. I’ve been enjoying the newness of our relationship and settling in to 50.
I don’t know what it is about Fall, it’s the time of year that I get inspired. The juices start following and sewing ideas begin to bombard my mind. Then it disappears in winter and resurface in spring, but that is a different post.
Vogue’s Fall Pattern collection really tickled my fancy. I am in love with V1467 by Anne Klein. I’m envisioning that pea coat in red wool with black buttons. Also, I couldn’t resist V1466, V1465 and V1457.
In my last post, I was about to wrap up my trouser jeans and start a dress for Easter. Let’s just say both are still a WIP. Since March, I have lost a few inches and both projects will require altering. (I hope those inches will not be found) Honestly, I am not motivated to alter either project. So, I’m thinking about how to repurpose the fabric.
Last month, I completed a walking outfit and my second pair of socks. My walking outfit is combination of Kwik K3115 and Butterick B5788. The fabric is supplex I purchased from Spandex House on my New York trip. I made a FBA and narrow shoulder adjustment on the top. The pants I made a sway back and full hip adjustments.
I completed the second variation of my basic sock pattern. I must admit, I really like knitting socks. The sock yarn is Manos Del Uruguary-Alegria.
This month, I’m planning to attend the American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan. This will be the first time for me. I’m very excited and planning to make a few items to wear. I’m thinking a few tops and a maxi skirt. So, I’ve been pulling knits and patterns from my stash. I’m excited to see what I will end up making. Stay tuned!! No seriously, stay tuned!!
Well in my next post, I will include a picture of me in my walking outfit.
Until next time, keep sewing!!!
