Welcome to my blog!!   My name is Ira. I’m a database administrator who loves to sew, knit , quilt and garden.  I reside in the Mid-West with my shih tzu Buster.  I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  

My mother taught me to sew when I was a teenager.  But I must admit, I never thought I would use the skill.  It happened when I got my first apartment.  Money was tight and shopping for clothes was not an option.  I was given a sewing machine as a gift and  I begin making my own clothes.  That’s when the love affair began.  Having the ability to create clothes that actually fit is quite liberating.

From time to time, you will find me knitting or quilting.  I always have some project on my needles and I have a queue of quilts I want to make. 

In the spring,  I spend time planting my vegetable and herb garden.  I love having fresh veggies and herbs.
